How would I ask a famous person for sponsorship of a local community event?

We need sponsorship this year to ensure that the event can take place and have heard that there is a famous person who has moved into the area, We’d like to approach said person for sponsorship but don’t really know how to go about it.
Any ideas on what we could put in our letter?
