I have a famous quotations site and I want to add my artwork of the person with the quotations? Maybe I will also sell the artwork with the famous quote. I see a lot of people doing this. Is this considered fair use?

I have heard stories in the past of celebrities or famous figures in the past receiving special treatment after they have been put in prison. Does this still happen today? How do they get away with this?

Im working on a logo for a client and they are requesting a silhouette of a famous structure without license or documented permission of use and I was wondering if there are any such copyright laws against this? I’ve never ran across this scenario before as a designer so I’m not sure about this one. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I wish to produce art works of famous people, both living and dead such as Marilyn Monroe, madonna, Sylvester Stallone etc. These would principly be them themselves, rather than the characters they play. These would be sold from the UK in small limited edition runs. How do I deal with the copyright issues. Are liceneces available or even necessary?

I want to publish a tarot deck and it’s corresponding instructional book based on the life of a famous dead person. Each tarot card would include illustrations of that famous person and their life history as it corresponds to the symbolism of the tarot. However, the illustrations would in no way identify the person or the people they knew when they were alive. However the written interpretations of the cards could lead to their identity. Any information used to discuss this famous dead person would be taken from the public record (newspapers, bios). How can I avoid breaking copyright law?

We see famous people breaking the law these days and getting a slap on the wrist or special treatment because they’re famous.Paris Hilton,Martha Stewart,Lindsay Lohan,Russle Crowe,M.J., Micheal Vick,and the entire bush administration for example have not and will not see general population if ever convicted of felonys. Instead they will have house arrest or go to rehab of the stars and get laid(Lindsay) or go to a special prison for the elite and famous. So what happens to ordinary felons that don’t have money, fame or power? They go to a state prison and become someones butt puppet. Ooo. Micheal Vick can’t be around dogs anymore. Will he have to register himself like a convicted petophile has too or will we just trust he won’t open another underground dog fighting ring with better security this time? Does anyone remember the saying,”if you can’t do the time don’t do the crime?” The Hiltons don’t. How can we make these people pay for crimes like an actual “TAX PAYING” citizen must?
