I’m a music producer and i need to know what are the most famous classical songs, but not sad, allegro better, for a project where i need to adapt them to another style of music. not 3/4 tempos please. Thanks a lot!

My Girlfriend is doing an assignment in College and needs it to be done ASAP, so she needs my (and secretly your) help – i need to find resources preferably internet links to find out about the stories / inspiration behind famous classical compositions?

Maybe like Bach, Handel or Beethoven, where can i find out about what inspired their music? Thanks.

I know that there are many more great music schools in America, I just used the schools that are the most famous here.
I would prefer an answer with multiple countries listed in it, but give me what you know! If there is a good site that lists many schools hit me with it.

Make the list as long as you like, but i only want the most famous ones which everyone should know. Like Mozart’s 40th symphony and Bach’s Air on a G string, Toccata & Fugue and Partitia in E.

I read that Elgar’s first large scale orchestral work, “King Olaf”, was premiered by the Staffordshire orchestra before he was famous. Before there was “Don Juan”, or “Also Sprach Zarathustra”, Richard Strauss’s “Festive March” was premiered by Wilde Gungl Amateur Orchestra. More recently, John Adams’s first orchestral work, “Suite for String Orchestra” was premiered by The New Hampshire State Hospital Auxiliary Orchestra. Are there any other examples of composers who went on to achieve success who’s earliest triumphs came from community orchestras?

What piece is most recognized? It doesn’t have to be the best piece but I would like to know the most famous.
