I know there are several variations of the story of King Author, Merlin, The Knights of the Round Table, and Excalibur. What was the most famous of these? I’m looking for the original, maybe not the first, but the work that sparked so many others to create their own version of the story.

The publishing market is so hard to break into for so many talented writers and yet famous people are getting published everyday by using ghost writers. How is this fair to anyone especially the person who really wrote the book?

I am translating a famous modern play into English. The playwright is deceased for about 20 years. Do I need to get some kind of special permission from her estate to translate, or produce, or maybe publish the work I translated?

Someone wrote in Reader’s Digest that they read this intriguing book (maybe about spies) where the big clue was a note hidden in the neck of a famous statue. This person actually visited the statue and reached behind it and found a note which read “good book, wasn’t it”. I always wanted to know the name of that book and the name of the statue too.
